Dr. Maira Bholla is a Molecular Epidemiologist with over 23 years of health-sector experience in Eastern Africa. She managed the medical laboratory at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi for 11 years. During this time, her technical focus was on HIV diagnostics and in the later years on tuberculosis in children as well as supervision of postgraduate students. She led due diligence and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes that resulted in the department achieving three different standards of international accreditation.
She currently consults in the health sector in Africa and has relevant networks in the public and private sectors with a global reach. Her portfolio in the healthcare industry includes:
- go-to-market strategy and business development for Greenfield and Brownfield projects;
- research and data analysis for pharmaceutical and health insurance companies;
- curating expert panels on relevant communicable and non-communicable diseases; and,
- advice on supply chain logistics.
